Corduroy is a fabric having vertical rows of soft pile that are uniformly spaced. These rows are organized in a certain pattern known as a "cord" or "wale." It is a ridged fabric that textile manufacturers may develop from a range of different materials. This fabric is well known for its distinctive ridged pattern, which corduroy manufacturers may weave in a number of widths.
