Description
Georgette is created from tightly twisted threads and was originally fashioned from silk. S- and Z-twist yarns alternated in the warp and weft give it its distinctive crinkly surface. Blouses, dresses, evening gowns, saris, and embellishments are created from georgette, which is produced in both plain colors and designs. Given that georgette has a very light and drapey touch, it works best for free-flowing clothing and is undesirable for more structured items.
