The practice of adding color to cloth in specific patterns or motifs is known as textile printing. The color is linked to the fiber in correctly printed textiles, making them resistant to washing and rubbing. Textile printing is similar to textile dying, with the difference being that whereas in dying the entire fabric is equally covered in one color, in printing the color or colors are applied solely to certain portions of the fabric and in clearly defined patterns.
